What's New

Version 6.5.1 of the NowForce platform is a maintenance release. It introduces no new features and includes the fixes and improvements listed below.

Fixes in 6.5.1

The following issues are resolved in this release.

Android

  • Fixed an issue where SOS could incorrectly restart when connectivity returned after a dispatcher closed an SLA incident while the device was offline (363746).

  • Fixed an issue on the SOS screen where the PTT indicator did not update when a voice message was received, even though the audio played correctly (391668).

  • Fixed an issue where the Policy location-tracking frequency setting was not applied correctly (383554).

  • Fixed an issue where tapping a pop-up notification for a received PTT voice message did not open the corresponding channel (387229).

  • Fixed an issue that allowed users to accidentally switch chat rooms by tapping an empty field in their current room (388919).

  • Fixed an issue where live PTT messages could still be heard in a channel the user had muted (389333).

  • Fixed an issue where a live PTT voice message was not automatically resent after being interrupted by a dispatcher's concurrent transmission in the same chat room (388920).

iOS

  • Fixed an issue where long-pressing a notification did not display notification options (392320).

  • Fixed an issue where receiving a PTT chat message while viewing a room redirected the user to the Rooms list instead of keeping them in the room (393939).

  • Fixed a crash for PTT users that occurred when launching the app with the “Send SOS on app launch” setting enabled (394371).

Additional Improvements

Beyond the itemized fixes above, this release includes the following improvements:

  • Security: As part of our ongoing commitment to protecting customer data, we identified and resolved a certificate (SSL) pinning vulnerability in the mobile applications.

  • Android platform compatibility: Improved compatibility with Android 16 (API level 36).

  • Android stability: General stability improvements that reduce the mobile app crash rate.

  • iPad: Additional bug fixes for the iPad app.

Known Issues Resolved in This Release

The following items, listed as known issues in the 6.5 release notes, are resolved in 6.5.1:

  • Tapping a pop-up notification for a received PTT voice message did not navigate the user to the corresponding channel. Resolved (387229).

  • Other group members could hear live PTT messages even when the channel was muted. Resolved (389333).
